For this scene in "Cross Country Detours" (Tex Avery, 1940), the Warner Bros. animators had a lizard "shed its skin", and the joke was to have it do a "striptease". To make it as convincing as possible, they actually brought in a live (human) model to strip for them, (which they greatly enjoyed), and filmed it.
