Apr 10, 2021 · Hi! I've been doing a lot of search for a specific table top size (120cm x 60cm) ~ 47 inches x 3-24inches for a standing desk frame I was planning to purchase. It can't be any more than the measurements above because I've got a small room.

May 9, 2020 · I’m headed to IKEA soon to get the concrete ekbaken to make an L desk. So two ekbakens, an Alex drawer, a two detolfs and some adjustable legs. Price sure got out of hand quickly like ordering at Taco Bell. Anyone familiar with the IKEA adjustable legs or risers on top of the Alex drawers? Does it make the desk too tall?

From my limited research, there seem to be two types of Ikea table tops: 1: hollow and cheap (eg. Lagkapten) 2: veneer and expensive (eg. Karlby) Are the more expensive tops worth the extra cost, and do they provide greater durability/longevity?

Nov 19, 2020 · Check Craigs list free (it's my addiction). Cutting a veneer counter top isn't that hard but you need the right kind of saw/blade. If you're using a circular saw you just want a really toothy blade and you want to cut from the under side, not the top. If you're using a jigsaw you wan to use a downward cutting blade.

Sep 22, 2021 · Looking to get a new desk and have been contemplating the Lagkapten 78” table top with 2 Alex drawers on either side. My first question is would any sagging occur in the middle without any additional support? If my math is right, there would be approximately a 50” spacing between the drawers.

Dec 23, 2023 · The alternative option within Ikea was to buy their Anfallare bamboo table top, but I had a bunch of leftover high quality laminated HDHMR wooden panels after building a new house. The size of the panel is a tad small (125 x 50 cm), but fitted just right with the Rodulf underframe that is 120 cm at maximum length.

Jul 13, 2020 · You should always finish both sides of a table top, or it will absorb moisture unevenly and warp. You sometimes can get away with not finishing both sides of a cabinet top, but general recommendations are to finish inside and out to help keep the moisture absorption as even as possible to prevent warping, splitting and cracking

Mar 25, 2021 · Also, and I cannot stress this enough... If your span is more than 3 feet, regardless of the top you get, please get a center support leg. Alternatively, bolt an angle iron or steel strut channel to the bottom of the table from end to end width-wise. Otherwise you will encounter sag. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday.
