The 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, which is expected to be more active than usual, has so far produced three named storms. The latest, Tropical Storm Chantal, impacted the Carolinas and the mid-Atlantic states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring an area of low pressure located east of Florida. It is forecast to move westward across Florida tonight and into the northeastern Gulf of Mexico by late Tuesday.

Forecasters are keeping a close eye on an upper-level disturbance that could bring tropical development to the Gulf of Mexico in the coming days, although the risk remains low.
