Arizona’s governor is calling for a “comprehensive and independent” investigation after a wildfire in Grand Canyon National Park torched thousands of acres and destroyed dozens of structures, including the iconic Grand Canyon Lodge.

A wildfire has destroyed a historic lodge and dozens of other structures on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona, raising questions over the National Park Service's decision not to aggressively fight the fire straight away.

The Dragon Bravo Fire has destroyed dozens of structures and a water treatment facility, and the White Sage Fire, located in Kaibab National Forest, has forced hundreds to evacuate.
