Outside of work, Calabria served on the board of the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education, as a member of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation’s Leadership Council, and a State Policy Fellow with the Hunt Institute, according to the Governor’s office. Next month, a new commissioner is expected to replace Calabria.

A new team within Gov. Josh Stein’s office will be tasked with leading Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in western North Carolina. Stein announced the Governor’s Recovery Office for Western North Carolina (GROW NC) on Tuesday,
