Based on a true story, the film follows Jude's FBI agent Terry Husk as he hunts down Nicholas Hoult's malevolent neo-Nazi Bob Mathews, who left police baffled after a series of daylight bank robberies throughout the Pacific north-west in the 1980s.

In the movie, which was a remake of the 1966 version with Michael Caine, Law starred as an east end womaniser, who exploits his job as a limo driver to sleep with attractive women. It was a box office flop, and critically panned, with The Independent calling it “laboured and implausible” at the time.

The 2004 remake of 'Alfie', in which Jude Law took over as Michael Caine's titular playboy, grossed $35 million worldwide on a $60 million budget.

"I think it was made for too much money, and I was probably paid too much money," he says of the 2004 box office bomb.
