The Cincinnati Observatory is offering a sweet way to soak up the sun with its annual Sun-Day Sundae Sunday celebration.

Omaha residents gather at Turner Park to celebrate the second annual Butter Brickle Day. Sunday also happens to be National Ice Cream Day, and Omahans took time to mark the city's invention of Butter Brickle Ice Cream. There were games, kids' entertainment and the highly anticipated ice cream eating contests for both kids and adults.

Dry ice is only useful when it's still frozen, so make sure you know how much time you have before it evaporates. Luckily, there are ways to prolong its life.

I’m the type of person who firmly believes in eating ice cream all year round. I’m just as happy to take a trip to an ice cream shop as I am to sit on the couch with my favorite pint (this chef-loved chocolate ice cream will be the next one I try).
