Investigations reveal both Baba Siddique and his son Zeeshan were potential targets for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A total of 23 arrests have been made in the case.

Shivkumar Gautham, the main shooter involved in the murder of veteran Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique told police that Lawrence Bishnoi gang wanted either the leader or his son Zeeshan killed. Police arrested Gautam and four others on Sunday and they have been remanded to police custody for a week.

Gautam initially travelled from the crime scene to Kurla, from where he boarded a local train to Thane. He dumped his bag and mobile phone during the journey, the officials said.

Shiv Kumar disclosed details of his escape to Uttar Pradesh after confirming Siddique's critical condition outside Lilavati Hospital. He admitted to hiding evidence, which police later found.
