A teacher was arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old in her classroom, California officials said. The teacher, identified as Colleen Jo Matarico, 43, groomed a 13-year-old and sexually assaulted them in her classroom,

Matthew James Mousseau, 37, a former Winnipeg teacher who was employed as recently as earlier this year, has been charged with having a sexually exploitative relationship with a student in an after-school program where he was a support worker.

The “not guilty” verdict came just over an hour after closing arguments this week in the trial of a special needs teacher accused of dragging a student across the classroom. Prosecutors allege Jayme Sue Stepp was on her second day of teaching in August 2023 when the incident occurred that led to her facing trial on a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery in Cleveland County.

A 43-year-old teacher suspected of child molestation was arrested in Valley Village. Colleen Jo Matarico was booked Thursday on suspicion of lewd acts with a minor and was being held on $1.3 million bail,

Detectives believe there are additional, unidentified victims of Matarico who have yet to come forward,” the LAPD said.
