England midfielder Jordan Henderson has left Ajax after the club agreed to end his contract early following a year and a half in the Netherlands.Henderson had a year to run on his Ajax deal, but the club said Thursday it "cooperated with the player’s request to terminate the current employment contract.

Should a move to Brentford be completed, Jordan Henderson would become Bees team-mates with a few of his former Liverpool colleagues.

Henderson had considerable interest from top clubs in England and Europe but Brentford have won the race to sign the former Liverpool skipper.
