Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman introduces the Bharat Maestro Awards to honor Indian classical music legends and nurture emerging talent.

Acclaimed composer and music maestro AR Rahman, along with the KM Music Conservatory, has launched the Bharat Maestro Awards to celebrate Indian classical music and its practitioners, reported Variety.

The awards will be presented by the gurus to their own students, honouring the timeless teacher-student tradition (Guru-Shishya Parampara)

AR Rahman, along with KM Music Conservatory, has launched the Bharat Maestro Awards on his 58th birthday to honor Indian classical music legends and inspire future talents. The initiative celebrates the guru-student bond and includes multiple awards for exceptional musicians and educators.

The Bharat Maestro Awards launch coincides with the 16th anniversary of the KM Music Conservatory, which Rahman founded to bridge tradition and modernity in music education. The institution offers programs in Western and Indian classical music, as well as music technology, and has become a cornerstone of India’s musical landscape.

On the occasion of his 58th birthday on Monday, the Grammy and Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman in collaboration with his music institute, the KM Music Conservatory, launched the Bharat Maestro Awards to honour the legacy of Indian classical music legends and inspire future music icons.
