President Donald Trump issued a blanket pardon for every person who was charged or convicted for their role in the Jan. 6, 2021, US Capitol riot, including one man who was found to have an extensive criminal record.

Trump signed an executive order on his first day in office that pardoned or commuted sentences for more than 1,000 suspects charged with participating in the Capitol riot, an ordeal that disrupted Congress as it tried to certify the results of the 2020 election, which former President Joe Biden won over Trump.

Roberto Minuta, a member of the Oath Keepers militia with New Jersey ties, was pardoned by President Donald Trump.

Dozens of Jan. 6 defendants who received pardons from President Trump had past criminal convictions for charges including rape, manslaughter, domestic violence and drug trafficking.
