Avian Influenza has been detected in wild birds in Austin, local health authorities announced Wednesday.

Currently, egg prices in Brevard County range from $3.50 to $7.50 per dozen, depending on the store and the type of eggs. "We are experiencing shortages of eggs due to the ongoing Avian Bird Flu (HPAI) situation," said Lindsey Willis, media relations manager for Publix.

Tests done by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department confirmed the disease was found in multiple ducks recovered at the shopping center.

Avian influenza (bird flu) is impacting wild birds worldwide and causing outbreaks in U.S. poultry and dairy cows, with human cases mainly reported in dairy and poultry workers. Presumptive positives have been reported in Marshall and Tama counties.

AUSTIN, Texas - New details were released about a flock of ducks that died from the bird flu in Northwest Austin. The ducks were found at the Arboretum Shopping Center pond near the intersection of North Capital of Texas Highway and Research Blvd.
