Much of the handwringing by Michigan football fans in the postseason has been the lack of transfer portal movement with the wide receiver position. The Wolverines brought in former Indiana wideout Donaven McCulley shortly after the transfer portal opened,

Graduate transfer cornerback Caleb Anderson, who played under LaMar Morgan at Louisiana, verbally pledged to the Wolverines.

Simpson, who spent two seasons at Arizona before transferring to UMass, is the second receiver the Wolverines have added from the transfer portal.
