The Cincinnati Reds' rotation is set coming out of the All-Star break, and the pitchers involved have their marching orders.

The Rockies go on vacation carrying the baggage of a 22-74 record. Colorado’s 74 losses before the All-Star break are the most since 1933, the year of the first All-Star Game. Colorado surpassed the 2024 White Sox, who were 27-71 at the break.

The Reds have shown "strong" interest in Minnesota Twins pitchers Jhoan Duran and Griffin Jax, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale. Duran has been fantastic this season for Minnesota. The 27-year-old has a 1.49 ERA and 47 strikeouts over 42 1/3 innings this season. He has 15 saves.

"There's so much less certainty of the grouping near the top," said Reds director of amateur scouting, Joe Katuska said.

For nearly two full games, the Reds seemingly had their hands full with the Rockies, despite their opponent owning baseball's worst record. The push to win manager Terry Francona wanted to see going into the All-Star break looked elusive at best.

For the first time in three years, it seems unlikely that the Reds will select a right-hander from Wake Forest with their first pick.
