Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed that a Sims movie adaptation is officially in development, with Margot Robbie and her husband, Tom Ackerley, set to produce under their LuckyChap Entertainment banner.

Now, The Sims will be coming to the big screen after the gaming giant Electronic Arts (EA), who publishes the game, announced that it was working with Amazon MGM Studios to bring the eccentric world to (real) life.

Rumours of a movie based on the hugely popular simulation game franchise, which first launched in 2000, began circulating in March after it was announced that Margot Robbie's production company LuckyChap Entertainment would be adapting it for the big screen following the massive success of Barbie.
