Jordan Henderson's exit from Ajax has been confirmed with the England midfielder describing it as an honour "to represent this incredible institution."

Jordan Henderson has left Ajax after the Dutch club agreed to end his contract a year early.The England midfielder, who joined the Dutch giants in January 2024, was under contract until June 2026 but is now free to join another club.

Ajax and Club Brugge are nearing a deal for Carlos Forbs, with the 21-year-old winger awaiting a final agreement between the clubs. Club Brugge submitted a bid to Ajax last week, stating an asking price of around eight million euros, excluding bonuses. The fixed amount Ajax will ultimately receive is slightly lower.

England international Jordan Henderson is to leave Ajax Amsterdam on a free transfer after 18 months at the club, Dutch media said on Wednesday.
