As a winter storm barrels toward North Texas, many school districts have decided to cancel classes on Jan. 9.  Below are the districts who have cancelled classes on Jan. 9:  Mike Albanese is the Managing Editor of Star Local Media and is covers Celina and Frisco.

The school district closures are pouring in. Dallas ISD made its announcement just before dismissal on Wednesday. And many other big districts including Arlington, Irving, and Richardson ISDs followed soon after.

School districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are closing their campuses Thursday and Friday ahead of the winter storms expected to hit the region. Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, Rockwall and Hunt are under a winter storm warning as the National Weather Service forecasts a wintry mix of rain and possibly up to 4 inches of snow that could begin 6 a.

School districts in North Texas, including Dallas ISD and Fort Worth ISD, are expected to make decisions on Wednesday or early Thursday about school closures because of the winter weather.
