An Arizona State University student sprang into action to help classmate during "random" stabbing attack on the campus, saying that he felt "compelled" to help.

A student at the ASU West campus was stabbed Thursday morning during an incident with another student while in class, university officials said.

ASU stabbing suspect Kaci Sloan has entered a not-guilty plea. Sloan is charged with stabbing a fellow student multiple times in a classroom on Sept. 19.

Authorities arrested 19-year-old Kaci Sloan on suspicion of stabbing another student at the Arizona State University West Valley campus last week, according to a university spokesperson.
