The DC Board of Elections is still counting mail-in ballots from Tuesday's special election in Ward 8 and will be until July 25.
With two-thirds of the votes counted, former D.C. Council member Trayon White has all but been officially declared the winner of the special election spurred by his expulsion from the legislative body earlier this year.
Voters in Ward 8 are heading to the polls Tuesday to choose their next representative on the D.C. Council, following the expulsion of former Ward 8 Councilmember Trayon White.
