Body pulled out of Fort Lauderdale river after reports of missing swimmer, police say
Witnesses reported seeing a man struggling in the river, and one bystander even jumped in to try to save him but lost sight of the swimmer, said Casey Liening, a spokesperson for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

FORT LAUDERDALE -- A person was found dead in the New River on Las Olas early Saturday morning, according to Fort Lauderdale police. Police say around 2:40 a.m. a call was made about a person in "distress" in the water prompting the Broward Sheriff Office Aviation unit to come out.
