The Miami Heat were linked to a Damian Lillard pursuit many times in the past. Now they might actually have a chance to land him.

On Tuesday, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that the Milwaukee Bucks are waiving Lillard, buying out the rest of the $113 million that the star was owed. Shortly after, it would be noted that Miami is “expected to have interest” in the 34-year-old, according to Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press.

The Milwaukee Bucks will waive guard Damian Lillard as part of an effort to free enough cap space to sign center Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million contract, team sources confirmed to The Athletic on Tuesday.
