SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WOIO) - Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is visiting Springfield Thursday and holding media availability at 3 p.m. The city has been at the center of turmoil since the presidential debate September 10. On Monday, DeWine sent Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers to the city to provide added security for district school buildings.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said on Monday there have been “at least 33” bomb threats in Springfield and he announced troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be dispatched to 18 school buildings for the foreseeable future.

The 77-year-old governor told reporters Monday that law enforcement has responded to at least 33 separate bomb threats made against Springfield government offices, schools and medical centers
