Body pulled out of Fort Lauderdale river after reports of missing swimmer, police say
The body of a man police believe may have been a missing swimmer was pulled from the New River in Fort Lauderdale early Saturday morning. Emergency crews began searching around 2:40 a.m. after receiving a call about someone in distress in the water near 20 W. Las Olas Boulevard. The address matches that of The Wharf, a popular event space.
