Ford is recalling nearly 694,721 examples of 2020-2022 Escape and 2021-2024 Bronco Sport models. The recall report cites a fuel injector that was equipped on 1.5-liter-powered Bronco Sport and Escape crossovers that could crack and cause a fire. The recall report says that only 0.3% of vehicles is affected by this defect.
After a fuel pump recently caused a massive recall, a separate fueling issue could cause a fire under the hood.
Ford’s stock turned lower after the carmaker said it would cost nearly $600,000 to fix fuel injectors on up to nearly 700,000 SUVs.
Ford is expanding three of its previous recalls, including ones from April 2024 and November 2022, adding over 694,200 Bronco Sport and Escape SUVs. The issue involves a fuel injector and may lead to a fire. This is the automaker’s 18th major recall of 2025.
