I've seen the US Marine Corps memorial many times during the day, but it's almost like a completely different monument at night. I am not sure how, but the memorial seems to be moving. The soldiers s… Full review by psudino

Be sure to check out the Sunset Parade every Tues at 7pm. Steps from the Rosslyn metro, and a memorable, meaningful event to witness. Full review by wheninroam05

This awesome statue is a little way out of town, but well worth the visit. We visited as part of a night bus tour, so it looked fantastic lit up. A real experience! Full review by 554iw

Agree with all of the others here. Although I think it's a bit more than a half mile it's a walk you should take. I'm glad I did and I walked back to the metro stop afterwards. Gives you time …

Q:
I understand this memorial is accessible from the last stop of the Tram at Arlington Cemetery. About the tram; I originally believe it was and on and off type trolly where you could get off at a stop and wander and then get on a subsequent bus and continue; now reading more it says 'tour' which is a different story to me. Tour means you get off when they stop and get back on when they say. Which is this experience? If it is the LAST stop, at what point do you see the Changing of the Guard at the Unknown? Also, is the walk from Arlington to the Marine Corps Memorial difficult? And, do you have to pay again and go through security again to return to Arlington? I am debating about driving to the memorial on some other day as I have heard it is easy get to and that it is a nice place to linger and contemplate and there is parking. I know this is more than one question, but I've been looking for answers elsewhere for all these so I can decide my agenda, but haven't had a lot of clarification and luck. Thank Any and Every one who replies.

Hi Judi; I believe you already have the answers, but; I'll throw my "two cents" in. 1. About the tram; I originally believe it was and on and off type trolly where you could get off at a stop and wander and then get on a subsequent bus and continue... -Yes this is correct. You can get off at any stop, wander around at your own pace and catch any subsequent tram to continue through the circuit. 2. If it is the LAST stop, at what point do you see the Changing of the Guard at the Unknown? -They will tell you at each stop what is nearby to see, visit. They will let you know "Here you can watch the "Changing of the Guard" at the Tomb of the Unknowns. 3. Also, is the walk from Arlington to the Marine Corps Memorial difficult? -The tram/tour trolley has a stop that is at a side gate. The USMC Memorial is through the gate and across the street. It is a short walk and rather easy stroll. There is a "security" guard at the gate to check your bags as you come back into the Cemetery. 4. And, do you have to pay again and go through security again to return to Arlington? -No, there is no charge to enter Arlington. HOWEVER, keep you trolley ticket. You may be required to show it whenever you get back onto a tram/trolley. I hope this helps! Enjoy your trip. If you're physically able, just walk across the Key Bridge into Rosslyn and walk over from there. There's a sidewalk the full length of the bridge. It's a pleasant walk with great views down the river and if there's a lot of traffic or a major event, it's better than being in a car. By public transit, take a Metro Bus to Foggy Bottom and take Metro to the Rosslyn station. It's about a 5 minute walk from that station. It'll take a lot longer than just walking over to Rosslyn. Enjoy the marathon!
