In the past there have been Jr. ranger programs at El Capitan State beach which is just 2 miles away. They have met on wed am and there is always an educational program (called a "campfire") on sat evenings. Look at the state park website specific to the park and there may be more info there. There were no Jr. ranger programs last year due to the oil spill.
