Not sure how big your skinner is but mine uses 3/8" tubing and is rated for a 240 gal tank but is on a 120 gal. I also have shopmedvet's media that I will try next to compare.

WEBJul 27, 2018 · My pH ranges from 8.2-8.6 I buy the 3lb bags of Jorvet brand from shopmedvet. I believe they are ~$10/bag so about 3 bucks a week. My tank I started with all dry rock and sand has similar phosphate issues where any dosed phosphate absorbs rapidly.
