Airband-specific antennas for a casual scanner user: worth it?
WEBSep 21, 2020 · I have tried numerous antennas, mostly hand held style. In fact, I believe eorange and I have exchanged antennas as well to compare them. I can tell you as a good overall aviation antenna for handheld use, the RH-77CA is very hard to beat. I use it on 325P2, my old Pro-43 handheld and my Yupiteru MVT-7100, perhaps the best aviation handheld made.

WEBAug 10, 2023 · Multi-Site depends on how many sites you are using. If a single site, set Multi-Site to Off. If set to Roam, the scanner will find a site with a good signal and stay there until it loses it and then hunt for another site. If set to Stationary, the scanner will scan all sites whose control channels are in the frequency list.

WEBAug 8, 2016 · As the BC-125AT is an analog only scanner you're going to be limited to what you can make use of during reception - technically it can tune in frequencies from 25 to 512 MHz so, there's really no reason to purchase an antenna designed for 800 MHz use like the RS800 or the Remtronix clone.

You could determine bands of interest yourself with the scanner plug-in by starting with large scan ranges then narrowing them once you determine (via logs) where the activity is occurring and then further again when you find the ones are the most interest to you.

I am ONLY interested in the 154-156 mhz zone. I am happy to try out a 2-meter antenna or marine radio (156 mhz) antenna. What are folks using. Thank you.
